WOW.
I had the chance to go to the Vancouver premiere for the The Year Dolly Parton Was My Mom last Friday and the fab afterparty for it afterwards.
Gotta say, what a stunning piece of art!
I was instantly moved by this film. Director Tara Johns (who I had the incredible opportunity to meet) hit all the right points. She nailed IT!!
I’m sure it didn’t hurt that the film had a strong cast!
Julia Stone (who played 11 year old Elizabeth Gray) was flawless. And Macha Grenon (who played Elizabeth’s mom) was unbelievable. They were my two fave performances, for sure. Everyone else was great as well.
Also, the cinematography was gorgeous and I loved the score!
Gotta love classic Dolly tunes!!!
I highly recommend this movie. It’s a film about family, unconditional love, and relationships. It’s playing at Tinseltown Mall this week. Take the time and go see it!
Proud of Julia, if you did not know, I cast her in my short film Sunday’s Child (shot last year). She’s a star! It’s a fact! More details on that soon!
And…
If you’re reading this Sue Chappel, you’re a Goddess!

Can’t believe how much this woman inspires me. She’s a class act!
Love her!!!
