Triple threat Hugh Jackman promotes Broadway show!

Seriously…

It’s baffling that Wolverine himself is THIS talented!

He looked dapper while promoting his new one-man Broadway show Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway in NYC on Monday. I need tickets!!

And STAT!

It’s official: the world has run out of ideas!

I’m speechless.

Ok. First off, I can’t believe Bring It On: The Musical is playing around North America right now. And second, I cannot believe I did not know about it sooner.

There’s not much to say other than I think it looks awful!

However, Legally Blonde was turned into a great musical, so I could be pleasantly surprised if I ever got the chance (and free tickets) to watch this.

Tell me, what do y’all think?

Holly Madison extends Peepshow contract till 2012!

Holly Madison fans rejoice!

Your favorite Girl Next Door is sticking around as the headliner in the mega-successful “striptacular” burlesque revue Peepshow till at least December 2012.

Holly, who originally had a 3 month contract for the show starting in 2009, has proved to be such a profitable draw, especially with her hit reality show Holly’s World, that producers are paying her big $$$$ to stick around.

I’m a fan! And I got to see her in it last year!

I cannot wait to catch her again next time I visit Sin City!!!

Nick Jonas heads to Broadway!

Nick Jonas

Seems fitting!

Seeing as he got his start on the Great White Way as a child!

Many news outlets are reporting that the youngest Jonas brother will be taking over for Darren Criss (from Fox’s hit show Glee!!) in 2012 for the role of J. Pierrepont Finch in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

Hopefully he will do better here then he did in Les Misérables. He was not up to caliber with that insanely talented cast. Good luck, Nick!!!!!!

Someone’s been hitting the gym!

John Stamos and Nick Jonas

Those pipes are almost scary!

Haha.

Not quite. But his arms have, for sure, grown in size!!

John Stamos posted this Twitter photo of him and Nick Jonas as they rehearsed for Hairspray. Thanks for sharing John! Got to love Twitter!

Maybe Nick can try lifting Mr. Stamos over his head, what do U think?

Only kidding.

Love Never Dies review!

Sierra Boggess and Ramin Karimloo

Alright, a lil’ while back I did a post on Love Never Dies, the sequel to The Phantom of the Opera, getting a creative overhaul and opening in Melbourne, Australia.

Well, I got to see the show…

It’s not the mess it could’ve been. I had a great time!

It is an extremely pointless show in the sense that a sequel is totally unnecessary, but the show itself is quite good. I was very surprised!!

The 1st act musically and story-wise is so strong, but it’s the 2nd act where the show begins to falter!! That being said, the show is still one of the most visually spectacular things I have ever seen before. To see Coney Island come alive on stage is a true sight to see.

And the cast was seriously top-notch!

The music was also reminiscent of the original, beautiful and haunting. As I said before, it is the 2nd act that needs some work. The characters are so different from the original that it is hard to identify with them!!!!

The sense of mystery and intrigue is gone from the original as well, it is
now similar to a soap opera. But yea, the show was pretty enjoyable and
I hope it makes a transfer to Broadway (with changes to the 2nd act).

Kara DioGuardi is Broadway bound!

Kara DioGuardi

Ex-American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi is dusting off her dancing shoes and heading to Broadway to star as Roxie Hart in Chicago!!!

She will be joining the show starting September 5th.

And she will play the role for 8 weeks!

We know Kara can judge write and sing, but it’ll be interesting to
see how she fares with choreography. Hehehe! Best of luck, Kara!

Spider-Man FINALLY opens on Broadway!

Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark

Yes, you read correctly.

After 1000 years 7 months of previews, revisions, firings, injuries, and bad reviews (am I missing any?)… the $70 million Broadway adaptation
of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark finally opened the other night at the Foxwoods Theatre.

Even after all those problems and changes…

I am hearing the critics are still calling it a full-on bomb!

It still intrigues me though. And if I’m in NYC sometime and it’s still playing, I will be forking out money to see it (uh, discount tickets of course).
