James Van Der Beek is back! As himself!

Yea, the former Dawson’s Creek star will be playing himself in ABC’s new sitcom, Don’t Trust the B**** in Apartment 23. Okay, maybe not exactly himself. An exaggerated, made-for-sitcom version.

Actually apart from the name, there’s very little resemblance between the 2. The character is single and rather randy, but the real James is a married father of two (and probably not as promiscuous).

Perhaps he’ll draw on his days as Dawson Leery.

Can you name any others that have played themselves on TV?

Ya, young people now have another example of how an openly gay actor
can still be successful. The 23 year old star of MTV’s The Hard Times of
RJ Berger, Paul Iacono, came out in a recent interview —>

“We need more gay characters on television and more actors who are open about their sexuality. I didn’t think I’d be coming out. But why not now? I think it’s the right time to say something.”

Well said.

Paul will be playing a homosexual character in the upcoming MTV show, Kenzie’s Scale. He now joins other actors who have recently escaped the celluloid closet…

After 22 years on the air, fans of The Simpsons take note!

Springfield is in Oregon!

Uh well, at least Matt Groening’s inspiration was the town of the same name in his home state of Oregon. Also, it happens to be the name of the town featured in the classic television series Father Knows Best.

Guess that means that the mystery and the debates are over.

If I lived in Springfield, Oregon, I don’t know if I’d be happy about living
in a city that is portrayed as polluted and run by money-hungry corrupt
officials.

Thoughts???

A $16 million deal is in the works that would see Britney Spears become
a judge on The X Factor! That is a lot of freaking money, let me tell you!

While paperwork has not yet been signed, negotiations have apparently been underway for a while. If signed, Britney would be earning as much as Jennifer Lopez and Christina Aguilera for their hosting duties.

For now, we can only sit and wait for the official news.

Host Jeanne Beker will remain with the parent company, Bell Media!! They plan to grow the Fashion Television Channel brand so that it’ll have a broader appeal to viewers, advertisers, and distributors.

Oh God!! Melissa Gilbert was rushed to the hospital during a recent live broadcast of Dancing with the Stars. While performing a dance with her partner, she hit her head on the floor and later had to leave the studio!!

Poor her, she was complaining of dizziness…

Doctors have advised her to take a rest day due to whiplash and a mild concussion. She is hoping to return to the competition. We are rooting for you, Melissa!

Yea, Donald Trump’s Miss Universe Pageant’s now changing its policies
after Jenna Talackova was initially disqualified from competing because
she is transgender.

Crazy! This comes after more than 2 weeks of discussions and adds the
organization to a growing list of groups that have taken a stand against
the discrimination of transgendered people.

For all those who are marginalized and denied basic equal opportunities
in housing, employment, and medical care, this is a big step in the right
direction!
