Evan Rachel Wood wears a bird on the red carpet!

Literally, it’s like she wrapped herself in a peacock! That’s not a bad thing!

Evan Rachel Wood wore a beautiful peacock gown on the Golden Globes red carpet on Sunday night. Scales, feathers and  such beautiful colors!

This is definitely one of my favorite gowns of the night!

Sofia Vergara is a beautiful mermaid!

Seriously, hell will freeze over before this woman has a misfire on the red carpet!

Sofia Vergara was stunning once again on the Golden Globes red carpet in a Vera Wang gown that showed up her bodacious Latin curves! She resembles a mermaid in my opinion, and looks absolutely gorgeous!

Reese Witherspoon blends in with the red carpet!

How do I put this?

The upper part of Reese Witherspoon‘s Golden Globes dress is pretty, but not stunning.  The bottom ruffle is a mess and I don’t like it. This Zac Posen gown just isn’t doing it for me Reese, better luck at the SAG Awards.

18th Annual SAG Award nominations announced!

The nominees for the 18th annual SAG Awards have been announced and The Help and The Artist lead the race in the film categories with 4 and 3 nominations respectively.

I really like these awards; they recognize an ensemble in addition to singling out individual performances. Comedies seem to get equal time and consideration as well.

I’ll admit that I was somewhat surprised to see nominations for Bridesmaids (Ensemble Cast, Supporting Actor – Melissa McCarthy), something I had dismissed as just a fluffy formulaic comedy… but now I’m really curious to see what all the buzz is about!

I’m also rather surprised shocked to see that Shailene Woodley was not nominated for her performance in The Descendants. I was pleasantly surprised by the depth she showed in that film. I’m anxious to see how Michelle Williams fares for her stunning performance in My Week With Marilyn.

The competition looks good in the Sexiest Man Male Lead Actor category. With countless nominations under his belt, could this be the year for Leonardo DiCaprio (J. Edgar)?

In the television movie / miniseries categories, Mildred Pierce (a remake of the classic Oscar-winning 1945 film) and Too Big to Fail each scored 2 nominations while the highly publicized The Kennedys received one well-deserved nod for Lead Actor Greg Kinnear’s spot-on performance as John F. Kennedy.

For the television nominations, Modern Family is once again a strong contender with five nominations including one for Outstanding Comedy Ensemble and competing nods for actors (Ty Burrell, Eric Stonestreet) and actresses (Julie Bowen, Sofia Vergara). Betty White (she’ll be 90 in January!) was also recognized for her performance in Hot in Cleveland.

Rounding out the top were Dexter (Actor Michael C. Hall, Drama Ensemble, Stunt Ensemble), and 30 Rock (Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey in acting categories, Comedy Ensemble), each with three nominations.

Speaking of Comedy Ensemble, it looks like a very interesting race (30 Rock, The Big Bang Theory, Glee, Modern Family, The Office). Personally, I think The Office has become a bit tired lately, but I always get a laugh from the writing and acting on The Big Bang Theory.

Agree? Disagree?

Tune in on Sunday 29 January 2012 to see who carries home the bronze statuette at the SAG Awards!

69th Annual Golden Globe nominations announced!

The awards season has officially started now that the nominations for the 69th Annual Golden Globes have been announced by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. It looks like a lot of tight races between some very big names.

In the film categories, The Artist leads with 6 nominations. With a story vaguely reminiscent of A Star is Born (declining male film star and an actress whose career is on the rise), this French romance film is set in Hollywood between 1927 to 1932.

With 5 nominations each are The Descendants and The Help. Close behind are Midnight in Paris, Moneyball and The Ides of March, each scoring 4 nominations.

Things appear to be looking good for Ryan Gosling, nominated for Best Actor awards in both the comedy and drama genres.

Old pals George Clooney and Brad Pitt will be in a battle of sorts as their films compete head –to-head in several categories: Clooney’s The Descendants up for 5 awards (Picture – Drama, Actor – Drama (Clooney), Supporting Actress (Shailene Woodley), Director (Alexander Payne), Screenplay) and Pitt’s Moneyball close behind with 4 nominations (Picture – Drama, Actor – Drama (Pitt), Supporting Actor (Jonah Hill), Screenplay).

There were a few surprises in the television categories. The highly-praised series Parks and Recreation was not nominated for Best Comedy and recent Emmy winner Jim Parsons was not nominated for The Big Bang Theory, although his castmate Johnny Galecki did receive a nod.

Showtime’s Homeland leads the race with 3 nominations (Drama Series, Actor (Damian Lewis), Actress (Claire Danes). Showtime itself also leads with 8 nominations, followed by HBO with 6. In fact, the cable networks are far ahead of network television in terms of nominations (22-7)!

Hosted by Ricky Gervais for the third time, the Golden Globes are set to air on Sunday 15 January 2012.

Taylor Swift dazzles on the AMA red carpet!

As always, Miz Swift looked divine!

Taylor Swift took the red carpet by storm on Sunday night at the AMAs, and in my opinion, was the best dressed celebrity of the night! I love it!

She looked amazing!

Christina Aguilera continues to destroy fashion!

It’s no secret Christina Aguilera has gained quite a bit of weight in the past year. If she is happy being curvier, more power to her, but for the love of God, somebody fire her stylist ASAP!

Christina took the stage last night in a bandage dress that was quite unflattering to her new curves. It’s sad that she wouldn’t realize this before going on stage. In my opinion, she looked awful.

At least she sang well, what do U think?

Teenage PDA alert!

How adorable!

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber pulled out some good ol’ fashioned teenage love on the AMA red carpet last night!! If millions of Bieber fanatics weren’t planning Selena’s demise…

This would be much cuter.
