Travolta assault case ends!

The second and final plaintiff has withdrawn his allegations of sexual battery against John Travolta without any explanation, bringing the case to an end.

Travolta had been accused of groping two male massage therapists in separate incidents in Beverly Hills and Atlanta.

The first plaintiff (known as “John Doe #1″) backed out after learning that Travolta was not in Los Angeles on the day the alleged incident occurred. He was actually in New York!

While the initial dismissal was “without prejudice”, famed attorney Gloria Allred (representing John Doe #1) stated that her client is still legally entitled to file a lawsuit against John Travolta, if he chooses.

Travolta’s lawyer called the allegations by both men ridiculous.

These days, it seems to be tough separating real claims from money-grabbing opportunists, doesn’t it?

Donna Summer has died!

The Queen is dead. 1970′s disco icon Donna Summer has died this morning in Key West, Florida at the age of 63.

Her family made the announcement: –>

“Early this morning, we lost Donna Summer Sudano, a woman of many gifts, the greatest being her faith. While we grieve her passing, we are at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continued legacy. Words truly can’t express how much we appreciate your prayers and love for our family at this sensitive time.”

She was known for many classic tunes of the time such as [Last Dance], [MacArthur Park] and [She Works Hard for the Money].

While no information was given as to the cause of death, Summer had been battling breast and lung cancer. She leaves behind her husband Bruce Sudano and three daughters.

Sad news.

Obama comes out!

History has been made; a sitting American president — and candidate for re-election — has come out in support of same-sex marriage!

US President Barack Obama echoed the sentiments of his Vice President Joe Biden this Wednesday when he boldly announced that he believes that same-sex couples should be allowed to marry.

“At a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me, personally, it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same-sex couples should be able to get married. I had hesitated on gay marriage, in part, because I thought civil unions would be sufficient. I was sensitive to the fact that — for a lot of people — that the word marriage is something that provokes very powerful traditions and religious beliefs.”

Obama further added that he was disappointed by Tuesday’s vote in North Carolina (where a ban on same-sex marriages was upheld), describing it as “discriminatory against gays and lesbians”.

This is regarded as a very major leap forward in human rights but is in direct opposition to the views of Republican candidate-apparent Mitt Romney.

Will it gain Obama support? Certainly, the LGBT community will applaud his bold statement.

Will it cost him re-election this November? Time will tell.

What’s your opinion?

Now she’s just Demi!

Inhabitants of the Twitterverse please note; Demi Moore has finally settled on a new handle.

Yup, gone is @mrskutcher. Say hello to @justdemi.

Ditching the name associated with her third husband (her full name is actually Demetria Gene Guynes-Moore-Willis-Kutcher) and with great fanfare, Demi has gone with a name that she calls fun and somewhat playful.

She’s back!

Are you following her?

Trevor Donovan’s excellent adventure!

What do Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, Lech Walesa, the Dalai Lama and 90210‘s Trevor Donovan have in common?

Okay, admittedly I probably threw you off with that last one.

World leaders? Hmmm…
Eye candy? Ummm…

The answer: They were all guests at the recent 12th World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates.

Yup, apparently 33 year old Trevor has some very close ties with the Kennedy family (also in attendance) and has become quite active in the political scene lately.

Could a political career be in his future?

It’s a girl for Jessica and Eric!

Jessica Simpson and fiancé Eric Johnson have welcomed their first child, a 9 pound 13 ounce girl!

The baby’s name is Maxwell Drew Johnson.

I always thought that “Maxwell” was typically a boy’s name. “Drew”, however, is the maiden name of Jessica’s mother, so that makes sense.

Congratulations to the new mom and dad!

Beyoncé is beautiful!

Singer Beyoncé has been named People magazine’s Most Beautiful Woman for 2012.

When interviewed, she actually shied away from the accolade and attributed her beauty to having given birth: —>

“I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth. I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth… She’s just the cutest thing.”

Awwww.

Beyoncé also said that she sings her own unique lullabies to her daughter, Blue Ivy.

Lucky baby!
